SAINTS legend Matt Le Tissier put his best foot forward for charity on Sunday - for more than 20 miles.
Le Tissier, along with golf professional chum Richard Bland, Stoneham Golf Club pro Andy Gordon and three other members of the club - David Baker, John Brown and Matt Talbot - played four rounds of golf in one day in aid of the Childline charity.
"They were all marvellous," said Mary Hazell, who is halfway through her year as lady captain at Stoneham and recruited the four to support her chosen charity.
"One round of golf is reckoned to be about five miles. Four rounds of the Stoneham course is extremely hard work, but they took it in the best of spirits and it looks as though we may have raised something in the region of £800."
The day was sponsored by Jaguar Cars' Foxes of Southampton and anyone who wishes to contribute to the charity fund can contact Mary Hazell at the Stoneham club.
