LAWRIE McMenemy will manage an all-star ex-Saints team in a pre-season friendly against Isthmian Premier Division new boys Eastleigh.
The match, which has been set up with help of Saints legend Matt Le Tissier, will take place at Eastleigh's Sparshatts Stadium headquarters on Sunday, August 8 (3pm).
One of Le Tissier's brothers, Mark, has been lined up as the referee and invitations have gone out to a host of ex-Dell boys like Francis Benali, Steve Williams, Neil 'Razor' Ruddock, Andy Townsend and Steve Williams.
Eastleigh manager Paul Doswell said: "We ran the idea past Matt at the end of last season and Lawrie agreed to manage the team when I saw him at the England v France game in Portugal last week."
It's not the first time McMenemy has called in on Southampton's non-League neighbours.
The ex-Dell boss officially opened the Ten Acres floodlights back in the mid-70s and was a guest of honour in the local Dr Martens derby against Salisbury City last season.
Eastleigh will make a carnival day of it with a funfair and clowns for the kids - and all for the bargain price of £5 for adults and £1 for children and senior citizens.
Three days before playing Saints' stars of the past, Eastleigh will host Paul Sturrock's present team in an all-ticket friendly on Thursday, August 5 (7.45).
Tickets are priced £6 for adults and £3 concessions and will go on sale in the third week of July at the Sparshatts Stadium and St Mary's.
Eastleigh, meanwhile, are quids in after attracting two more partner sponsors to the club.
Building firm Jewson, the old Wessex League sponsors, have agreed a three-year deal worth £15,000, as have Wickham-based golf and country club Quindell.
In return for their backing, Jewson will have a stand named after them at Eastleigh's Sparshatts Stadium ground.
The new 350-seater stand currently being built will be known as the Sparshatts Stand, while the old structure, which has been revamped and moved behind the bottom-end goal, will be christened the Jewson Stand.
The added bonus of the Quindell deal will bring a smile to the face of local golfers.
Eastleigh have been given 1,000 12-day golf passes which they will sell for the knockdown price of just £20 each.
Each pass entitles the bearer to a dozen one-hour golf lessons (worth £25 a session) to be taken on 12 consecutive days. All the Quindell tutors are PGA golfers.
Keen golfers can ring Pat Mallon at Eastleigh FC on 023 8061 3361.
