ANDOVER police are warning revellers that any attempts to hold unlicensed mass parties or raves in Hampshire over the summer solstice, on Monday, will not be tolerated.
Officers will be out in force throughout the county to prevent any attempts to hold such events.
And they say that anyone travelling through Hampshire who is suspected of holding an unauthorised event will risk having their equipment seized.
Supt Ann Wakefield, Commander for West Hampshire, said: "We do not wish to be viewed as killjoys and are all in favour of people celebrating the solstice and enjoying themselves.
"But we will not tolerate anyone flouting the law by holding unauthorised events in the area at the risk of compromising people's health and safety.
"There are properly organised events at this time of year like the recent Homeleands Festival where 30,000 revellers enjoyed themselves in a properly organised environment.
"Anyone who thinks they can illegally occupy land and set up an impromptu event on the back of the summer soltice can expect to be dealt with robustly."
