ABOUT 20 budding artists and writers picked up awards this week after letting their creativity loose on the theme of European Year of Disabled People.
The youngsters, all from Southampton schools, penned poems, created posters and drew stunning pictures to draw attention to disabled people's role in society.
This week, at the city civic centre, they were presented with certificates by Southampton mayor Parvin Damani and scores of supporters turned out to view the work.
