More than 1,000 women took part in Winchester's Race for Life on Sunday.
The event was part of a national fund-raising venture in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Winchester's sport and recreations development officer, Louise Rowland, said: "It went fantastically well. We have provisionally booked a date for next year and, hopefully, we will have an even bigger race then."
Many of those taking part at North Walls Recreation Ground were running in memory of loved ones who had died from cancer.
Others themselves had won their battle against the disease. Nationally, more than 325,000 women took part at 150 venues.
* On Sunday, July 4th, a 5km Race for Hope will take place at North Walls to raise money for the medical charity, Hope. A 2km fun run will take place the same day. For an entry form and more details, visit www.hope.org.uk/events.htm.
