THE first two stores in Fareham's £30m Market Quay complex will open their doors to shoppers in August.
Flagship stores Wilkinsons and TK Maxx have been handed the keys to their retail units and will spend the next two months fitting and stocking the shops before opening to the public.
Adele Peattie, associate director for Miller Developments, said: "Work is moving on.
"We're delighted that Wilkinsons and TK Maxx will be open for business ahead of the official opening of Market Quay in September."
The Woolwich Building Society became the first tenant to fill one of the units at Market Quay in December.
Bus operator First Bus has already made the move to their new offices in the complex.
The 300-space Market Quay car park is also expected to be open for use in mid-July.
Work had been held up for two months after problems with a steel supplier, but contractors have been working hard to put the development back on track.
The centrepiece of the shopping and leisure complex will be a five-screen multiplex cinema. There will be 12 shops, a health and fitness club, restaurants and cafes. Confirmed tenants include JJB Sports, Peacocks, Metroplex Cinemas, The Chicago Rock Caf, the Litten Tree and health and fitness club LA Fitness.
Just a few smaller outlets remain available with discussions ongoing with a number of large retailers.
The development is a joint effort between Miller Developments and CPT.
