When We Are Married - The Burdock Valley Players Upper Clatford Village Hall
THREE couples - all married on the same day by the same parson - are having a party to celebrate their silver wedding anniversaries.
The party is disrupted when the new chapel organist reveals the contents of a letter he has received from the parson.
This play in a Victorian setting bases its humour around the moralistic attitudes of the time.
Chloe Black gave a convincing performance as Ruby, the cheeky maid.
The scene with Ian Powell as the rather tiddly and extremely funny Ormonroyd was played with excellent timing .
This is quite a funny play and there was evidence that many of the cast had potential, with some good characterisations shown.
Unfortunately, the performance lacked pace, and the cast struggled to remember dialogue.
