FETE: Tomorrow, from 1pm, but you can buy your barbecue lunch from 12.30pm.
There will be a large number of stalls and both new and old games.
Tea will be served in the marquee from 2pm, and there will also be entertainment by Silchester School Band and a Punch and Judy Show.
You can go to a circus workshop, where people of any age can learn to juggle, walk on stilts, unicycle, spin plates and lots more.
Do please come along, support the church funds and have an enjoyable afternoon out.
The fete ends at 4pm, after the Grand Draw, then you can have a little rest before returning to the marquee for a barn dance. This is a free event for everyone.
There will be a pig roast, and Rogues Gallery will play and do the calling.
SONGS of Praise: On the common at 11am this Sunday. Come along and sing your favourite hymns.
OPEN garden: On Sunday, June 20, from 2pm to 6pm, at Old Meadows, Church Lane, Silchester, in aid of the Lone Twin Network.
ROMAN talk: A talk will be given by Professor Michael Fulford in the village hall on Friday, June 25, at 8pm.
You can listen to and question him regarding what is going on at the dig, which is due to start in late July.
TEA party: Contact Zoe on 01256 818000 to find out about the nationwide tea party next Friday, in aid of local hospices.
It starts at 3.30pm, and Zoe will tell you where the nearest one to you is.
If you cannot go along, have a tea party of your own, and get your friends to donate the cost of tea and a piece of cake to our local hospice.
