DON'T miss the Hartley Wintney Festival tomorrow: This will be the 13th festival and is run by Hart Rotary Club in association with Hook and Odiham Lions Club.
It will be opened at 12.30pm by Helen James, of Meridian TV, on Oak Common.
Along with all the usual stalls there will be 12-feet-tall battling Cumberland giants, a bird of prey display, marching millennium majorettes and those infamous grandpas playing jazz.
There will also be another chance to visit the Farmer's Market, and refreshments will be provided at the beer tent and the barbecue.
EMBROIDERERS' Guild: The Hart branch of the Embroiderers' Guild meets on Monday for a practical session on Hardanger.
This is a type of embroidery, usually done in one colour, named after a district in Norway.
If you would like to have a go yourself, then bring along an eight-inch frame, needles and a pair of very sharp pointed scissors - all other materials will be supplied.
The guild meets from 1pm until 3pm at the WI Hall in Hartley Wintney. Admission costs £2.50.
Call Wendy on 762723 for more details.
ALZHEIMER'S Society: The Basingstoke and District branch of the Alzheimer's Society will be holding a carers' afternoon at the Old Raven House next Tuesday, starting at 2pm.
It gives an opportunity for carers to share their experiences with others in a similar position.
For more information, please call Diane or Maggie on 363393.
