STRANGLEY, it's the losers of television talent shows who seem to be the winners, with the success stories of Lemar, Liberty X and now Javine.
After just missing out making the five finalists, who became Girls Aloud, on the television show Popstars: the Rivals Javine has managed to turn her fortunes around and can happily look back on the experience.
"It was great being on the show. I really enjoyed it," she says.
"Not making the band - that wasn't so great. But it was a year and a half ago now and I've had a few singles out so it's kind of old news now. I'm over the whole thing."
There have been two singles to be exact, both huge successes, and with another out on Monday Javine is well on her way to becoming a pop sensation.
When talking about her latest single, Best of My Love, Javine's enthusiasm for her music is clear.
"I would describe the song as young, funky, and full of energy. As soon as you hear it there's an instant vibe. It's very dancy and catchy," she says.
"All the single's I've put out have been dance tracks, but this one's a bit darker sounding, production-wise."
Javine is looking forward to the release of her album Surrender on June 28.
"I don't think people know me very well yet, and I think that by listening to my album they'll probably get to know another side to me," she says.
"There are some personal tracks on it. There's a couple of love songs that have been my experiences, and my feelings on financial situations and stuff like that."
Javine assures the Power in the Park crowd that on Sunday they can expect a lot of "energy and enthusiasm" from her performance.
"I really enjoy performing live. The raw energy of a crowd is great, especially out of London, as everyone's really up for it, I really enjoy that side of things," she says.
Things are certainly looking good for Javine and her future plans are looking even better.
"I'm going to Japan soon, my album is coming out there, and hopefully that will go really well. I'm doing a theme song for a really cool movie that's coming out soon, which is going to be very exciting," she says.
"I'm also going to the States to start recording my second album, and hopefully start acting and doing a bit of modelling."
