THE Gogmagogs, an eccentric string sextet, bring their colourful show Gumbo Jumbo to The Corn Exchange on Thursday, July 8.
"Gumbo" is the name for the classic Cajun stew, in which all available ingredients are thrown into the mix. After simmering for several hours the result is extremely spicy and delicious!
Gumbo Jumbo is the Gogmagogs' signature show, and consists of some of the tastiest morsels from their entire repertoire. Per-formed by seven young, classically-trained musicians, it is a carnival of comedy, tragedy, and poetry.
The performance style switches from physical cartoons to moments of surreal beauty, while music ranges from classical to big band, blues and Madagascan dance.
The musicians bring an energy, humour and personal charm to the work that is irresistible.
The performance begins at 7.45pm. To buy tickets, priced £11 (£9 discounts, £5 under-25s), contact The Corn Exchange box office on 01635 522733 or book online at www.cornexchangenew.com
