FA VASE-WINNING skipper Danny Smith has admitted his departure from Winchester City this summer is inevitable.
The former Cherries star, who made 24 full appearances at Dean Court, was widely tipped for a move up the non-league pyramid following his inspirational performances in City's awesome treble-winning campaign last season.
Smith, currently working as a fitness instructor in Bournemouth, has never hidden his desire to play at a higher level and, with his contract expiring this summer, he is free to talk to other clubs.
But despite initial contact with two Nationwide Conference clubs, one of whom is strongly rumoured to be Exeter City, who are also reportedly interested in prolific hitman Andy Forbes, nothing is to be decided until the 21-year-old returns from holiday next week.
Smith, right, said: "Nothing is really happening at the moment as I'm off on holiday, but I have been speaking to two Conference clubs who have offered me the chance to go and train with them.
"I'm not too bothered about having to move if I need to. If I'm offered the chance to go full-time again, then it's something I would seriously consider."
