Havant captain Andy Perry could be nursing a hangover in the days leading up to the Cockspur Cup southern region final against Premier League rivals BAT Sports at Havant Park on Sunday, June 27.
He's won a bottle of rum from the ECB National Club Championship sponsors after his stunning third-round innings of 172 not out against Andover was chosen as the nationwide 'Cockspur Moment of the Round'.
Cockspur, who are sponsoring the prestigious ECB competition for the next three years, are presenting a round-by-round award to the player who produces the best individual performance, either with the bat or ball.
And Perry, pictured right, was out on his own after he and Paul Gover hit the Andover attack to all parts of Havant Park in the third round.
He hit 172 off 120 balls and shared a first-wicket partnership of 247 out of a closing 349-4 as Havant went on to complete a 163-run win.
Like BAT Sports, Havant have a great incentive to win the zone final.
The winners have landed a plum home tie against either ECB Middlesex Premier League giants Hampstead or Finchley on July 11.
The local pair won through to the regional final, with Havant crushing New Milton by nine wickets and BAT Sports knocking out Falkland.
