OLYMPIC heptathlon champion Denise Lewis is predicting a bright future for emerging Isle of Wight multi-eventer Kelly Sotherton.
Lewis, who launched her competitive season at the weekend's Loughborough International meet, was not surprised by Sotherton's success in Gotzis, Austria last week.
There the 27-year-old Athens hopeful blitzed to a new heptathlon personal best of 6,406 points behind talented Swedish world champion Carolina Kluft.
British golden girl Lewis, a training partner of Sotherton's and fellow member of Birmingham's Birchfield Harriers club, said: "Kelly was super. But she has been under-achieving for so many years.
"She can go on to big things. She knows she has to be tough now.
"Training with her also inspires me and motivates me."
