BREAST screening services provided by Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust will move to Gosport for the next three years.
The Patricia Massey Breast Care Unit will relocate from the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham to the Royal Hospital Haslar to allow for the redevelopment of QA.
The unit's new home will be the Eliza McKenzie House at Haslar from Friday, June 11.
The move of services, including screening, symptomatic mammography and outpatient clinics, will last until 2007 when construction at the QA is scheduled to complete and Haslar is timetabled to close for good.
Patricia Massey, whose name the unit bears after she and her husband Stan set up a charity to provide the area's first mammography machine, will officially close the old unit.
