SOUTHAMPTON residents have designed artwork that will stand as centrepieces of two new projects aimed at revamping the area.
People living in Northam have created street art at two workshops that will be put into a new park and Homezone.
The budding artists were asked to come up with pieces that had a nautical theme, to reflect the area's maritime history. It is hoped that the park will provide somewhere for the people who live in the built-up area to sit and relax and for children to play. Council chiefs and the Northam Residents' Association are currently developing it.
The aim of the Homezone is to make roads safer and will see a complete design of road layout, a limit of 20mph and new trees planted.
