Diary of Anne Frank, RAODS, Plaza Theatre, Romsey
THE D-Day invasion came a bit too late for Anne Frank and her family as they tried to escape the horrific treatment the Jews suffered under Hitler. This dark and moving play was well directed by Bob Blake, successfully portraying the hope and fear of life in hiding.
The whole company worked extremely well together, although the accents were a little off-beat at times!
The attention to detail was excellent. The set was realistic, imaginative in its design and gave the actors a suburb space to work in. The costumes were of the period - watch out for the shorter trousers and baggy jumpers as the people grow up and get thinner!
