ANOTHER top act have been added to the line-up for this weekend's Power in the Park on Southampton Common.
Boy band McFly, who had a number one hit recently with 5 Colours in Her Hair will be joining such artists as Blue, Blazin Squad, Jamelia and Girls Aloud at the free live music festival on Sunday. They will also be joining up and coming pop band VS.
Predicting the next chart topping act is a hard thing, but with Simon Webb (of boy-band Blue fame) managing them plus one top ten single under their belt, VS is a good bet.
VS is the latest R&B/pop act aiming to conquer the music scene, made up of Marvin, Chinyere, Ryan, Blimi and Jaime.
"VS has got a story to tell. Every one of us comes from a different place, we all come from different walks of life, and we come together to bring a unique sound. We're totally different," he says.
"For example I bring a youthful R&B element to it."
The group has the ambition and dedication to succeed. After the release of their first single, Love You Like Mad, which reached number seven in the singles chart earlier this year, the group have been in the studio writing and recording their debut album.
VS are enthusiastic about performing live on Sunday.
"The best thing about being on stage is the reaction from the crowd, its fantastic it makes our job really good making the crowd happy," he says.
"We bring a different element to every show that we do. I can't say what it will be for Southampton but it will be something cool.
"Although Blimi said he was going to take off his top for the Southampton show, so you can look forward to that!"
He also revealed how VS was formed.
"Simon from Blue is one of our managers. The whole idea was his. He met us all individually and thought it would be a good idea to put us all together.
"It's been such an advantage having a high profile manager. Just take the Blue tour for example. We went on two Blue tours and we got such a big fan base from that."
With a single released last Monday, another on the way and an debut album due for release later this year, VS are on their way to success.
