BRITAIN should be in the European Union, and the Liberal Democrats can be trusted to run it efficiently, says MEP Emma Nicholson.
Baroness Nicholson is standing for re-election to the European Parliament after serving five years for the South East.
On May 28 she took to the streets of Basingstoke and the surrounding area to talk-up support for herself and the Liberal Democrats ahead of Thursday's European election.
Baroness Nicholson said: "The European Union is a very important place for Britain to be, where it can perform, lead, teach and succeed. It really matters who voters put there.
"The Conservatives are dithering as to how Britain should perform in Europe, and Britain can't succeed with the ditherers in charge.
"People should vote Liberal Democrat because we are hard working, get things done and listen. That's the most important thing. We will listen to what people want and do our very best to find the answers and put them into practice."
Baroness Nicholson is a life peer in the House of Lords and a former MP. The European Lib-Dem manifesto includes increasing democracy within the EU, rooting out fraud, reforming the Common Agricultural Policy and creating a stable and competitive business environment.
