UNPAID workers at Winchester's Royal Hampshire County Hospital have been given a massive thank you for their outstanding contributions.
National Volunteers Week gave staff at the hospital an opportunity to praise their hard work.
Winchester and Eastleigh Healthcare NHS Trust has around 450 dedicated volunteers of all ages, working in a wide range of roles.
They all play a significant part towards improving patient care and many of them have helped to make major improvements.
One department that has reaped the rewards of voluntary help is the medical imaging department, where June Eldred lends a hand. June has worked in the role for three and a half years and acts as a patient escort.
She said: "It is all about meeting and talking to new people each day.
"Helping patients is far more enjoyable than staying at home looking at the four walls."
