ST JOHN'S Primary School regained the title at an annual six-a-side football tournament organised by Queen Mary's College students.
The primary schools winners in 2002 came up against Rucstall, their successors as holders, in this year's final.
St John's ran out 4-0 winners with Jack Coventry, the leading scorer in the tournament, netting twice while Alex Charlick and Tom Lockyer shared the other goals.
St John's skipper Charlick hoped his side would win the trophy and he spent the previous evening practising lifting up his teddy bear to make sure he got it right.
To reach the final, St John's beat Fairfields 3-1 in the semi-final with Charlick scoring a brace and Lockyer also netting.
In the other semi-final, Rucstall beat Oakley.
The tournament proved a double success for St John's when their B-team won the second string knock-out trophy by beating Fairfields B 5-0.
St John's recently returned from St Mary's Stadium at Southampton, where they were runners-up in a Hampshire six-a-side tournament.
St John's headteacher Andy Howard said: "I cannot fault the effort by all the players and I must say a big thank-you to the students of Queen Mary's College for once again organising this tournament for the schools."
