FOOTBALL tournament: The weather helped make the Loddon Sports Tournament weekend on May 22 and 23 a great success.
Saturday's tournament had teams from 16 clubs including Alton, Basingstoke, Andover and Thatcham.
Loddon won four of the seven age groups, and the Under-eights, nines, 10s and 12s all won their finals. Some of these went to shoot-outs, adding to the tension.
Sunday gave the chance for all club members to show their skills with an in-house tournament, and all the teams carried nationwide league names.
Fred B said: "Loddon Sports thanks parents and helpers who gave support and assistance over the two days, making the event such a success."
FETE: Plans for this year's fete are being finalised.
There is great excitement as a Chinook helicopter from RAF Odiham will be landing and there will also be a fire engine, depending on the weather and operational priorities.
There will also be an animal farm, pole jousting, wood cutting, a lucky programme and much more.
Natalie Larner said: "This year we are having a lucky programme too, with a meal for four at The Mill as the prize."
Unlike some fetes, entry to ours is free!
Please come along and support the fete on Saturday, June 12, from 1pm, on the green.
