ELECTIONS: A reminder that the elections for the European Parliament and the borough council both take place next Thursday, June 10.
Standing for election to the local council on Thursday in Hatch Warren and Beggarwood are two very well-known faces.
Jenny Crawford, editor of The Rabbiter, is standing for the Liberal Democrats, and sitting-councillor Dan Putty is the candidate for the Conservatives.
BURGLARY alert: There has been a spate of burglaries recently.
In several cases, homes have been broken into at night and car keys taken in order to steal cars.
Local people are warned not to leave windows and doors unlocked and to secure garages and sheds.
HATCH Warren Junior School: The annual summer fair organised by the Friends of Hatch Warren Junior School is just a couple of weeks away.
It takes place on Friday, June 18, from 3.30pm.
All the usual attractions are planned including a home-made cake stall, barbecue, tombola and beat the goalie, and the stalls will be manned by the children themselves.
NEIGHBOURCARE Fashion Show: Following on from the success of last year's show, Basingstoke NeighbourCare is holding another women's clothes sale at Popley Fields Community Centre on Friday, June 18, from 7.30pm.
MEMBERS disco: The family disco for members of the Hatch Warren Community Association is tonight, from 6.30pm to 10.30pm. The free event will include music by DJ Mark Halliday and a bar.
