George Hollingbery, Conservative parliamentary candidate for Winchester, was up bright and early on Wednesday, urging commuters to vote in next week's elections.
From 6.30 to 9am, Mr Hollingbery (centre right) and nine party workers patrolled the platforms of Winchester Station, urging passengers to sign up for a postal vote. Shadow chancellor, Oliver Letwin (centre left) was also in the city, persuading voters to take part in the elections to the European parliament.
"These elections are much more important than people understand," he said. "You only have to talk to small business people in Winchester who are affected by the amount of regulation that's coming in." While he was in the city, Mr Letwin met IsItFair campaigners, who are campaigning against the present system of council tax F34444C Photo: Frank Riddle
