SpeedEquipe's Ian Curley (Marden, Kent) won his, and the team's, first ever ELF/BTE Lawline Renault Clio Cup race after taking victory in the tenth round of the championship at Thruxton but the whole weekend was overshadowed by the tragic passing of Kevin Lloyd, a regular fixture in the Clio Cup paddock since 2002 (see back page).
Therefore, the results of the weekend's double-header races mattered little.
Following an emotional minute's silence in memory of Kevin, the tenth round got under way - the race going ahead without drivers Steven Hunter (Coal Aston, Dronfield) and Neil Waterworth (Norden, Rochdale) who elected to withdraw from the meeting following Saturday's tragedy.
