THE largest rocket ever to be launched from the UK took pride of place at Sholing Technology College.
At 13 metres high the Starchaser 4/ Nova structure was impossible to miss towering above pupils and staff in the school's car park.
It was on show as part of the school's technology week giving students a chance to take part in a variety of space-themed activities and events.
Head teacher Karen Dagwell said she hoped the technology week would help pupils learn in a fun and informative way.
"Having the Starchaser rocket as the centrepiece of our events is hugely exciting and takes our exploration of technology into a new dimension," she said. The Sholing Technology College gained specialist status 18 months ago.
New facilities include interactive whiteboards and wireless laptop computers that can be used during some lessons including maths, science and design technology.
