AS THE transfer window rumour mill cranks into full flow Saints have been linked with two more players in whom they have no interest.
The latest names being thrown around are Boavista striker Ricardo Sousa and Leeds' injury-troubled hitman Michael Bridges.
Chairman Rupert Lowe confirmed: "There is nothing in either story.
"I have not even heard of Sousa and Michael Bridges has not even crossed my radar."
Saints were reported to be locked in a battle with Wolves for 24-year-old Sousa after supposedly having watched him in action in America playing against the New York/New Jersey MetroStars in a friendly on Wednesday.
Sousa has scored 14 goals for Boavista this season and was first seen by Wolves in a pre-season friendly last summer.
Bridges was reported to have been offered a contract by Saints but was hesitating over signing it as he was worried about limited chances behind James Beattie and Kevin Phillips. However, the 25-year-old has not been offered any such deal so needn't worry about it too much.
Meanwhile, a Belgium international defender, the 20-year-old Ajax left back Jelle van Damme, claims Saints are trying to sign him.
"I can't say much about it. I can only confirm Southampton want me," he told a Belgium newspaper.
A Saints spokesman said: "He is one of many we have watched but there's no final decision. We are still looking at other players."
