FRAMED sheet music signed by Oasis star Noel Gallagher is going under the hammer to help fund a cancer information and support centre in Southampton.
Featuring the notes to Oasis hit Some Might Say, it is expected to be the star lot in a music memorabilia auction taking place in Eastleigh this weekend.
Also going under the hammer is an autographed framed photo of Michael Jackson, as well as many other items.
The fundraiser at the town's Breezers Unity Club will be part of a charity band night organised in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief's £1m Appeal for South Hampshire.
Music with an upbeat blues element will be played by popular live bands White City Project, formerly John Doe, Auto Circus and The Joiners.
Organiser Richard Bennett said: "Following on from the success of previous charity band nights, this will be another great evening of entertainment plus a chance to bid for music memorabilia.
"Twenty-five per cent of the ticket money will be going to Macmillan Cancer Relief."
The Daily Echo-backed Macmillan appeal aims to raise £1m to fund a cancer information and support centre at Southampton General Hospital.
Designed to provide a welcoming environment, the drop-in centre will be in complete contrast to the sterile, cold corridors often associated with cancer care.
Facilities will include information and
literature about cancer, refreshments, Internet access, counselling, complementary therapies, wigs and workshops.
As well as benefiting cancer patients and their families and friends in south Hampshire, the appeal will support people further away in parts of Dorset, Wiltshire and the Channel Islands.
Tickets for the evening, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £5 in advance or £6.50 on the door. For more information contact Breezers Unity Club on 023 8061 9090 or Top Music Promotions on 07966 159988.
