An Evening of Tom Stoppard, Horndean Amateur Theatrical Society, Merchistoun Hall, Horndean
AN evening of plays by Tom Stoppard featuring The Real Inspector Hound, The Fifteen Minute Hamlet and The Boundary provided a showcase for three very different plays.
In The Real Inspector Hound, amusing performances by Phil Davies (Moon) and Ross Gilson (Birdboot) as the two theatre critics held together a rather weak company.
This was followed by The Fifteen Minute Hamlet. Most of the cast played multiple roles and galloped through the play followed by an even quicker encore.
The evening was completed with a performance of The Boundary, which lacked pace and didn't make the best of the witty dialogue. Valerie Gray (Brenda) was a breath of fresh air with her good timing and characterisation. David Sherren did an excellent job with the sound effects.
