IPSWICH midfielder Jermaine Wright is believed to be one of the names on Paul Sturrock's summer shopping list.
Wright, 28, is out of contract next month and is discussing a new deal with the Tractor Boys in the next 48 hours.
But the prospect of a return to the Premiership with Saints may persuade the playmaker to leave for St Mary's after five years at Portman Road.
Wright has only netted ten goals in 149 games for Ipswich since signing from Crewe for £500,000 in 1999 but is one of the best passers in Division 1.
Sturrock has made no secret of his desire for more midfield creativity and, if he were to arrive, it could spell the end for Neil McCann, who is said to be interesting Reading. Saints were unavailable for comment today.
