PARISH council: It will be saying a formal farewell to Andy Reid, at 7pm, before the usual meeting on Monday. Members of the public are welcome but please let me know if you are coming, on 297144.

FOOTPATHS: As our usual day falls on a bank holiday weekend, the next session of the footpath group will be on Sunday, June 6, at the Village Club, at 10am.

There is a lot of work to do, so we need as many volunteers as possible. Call Heath Denness on 298376 if you are interested in helping out.

ROADWORKS: We hope that work to reinforce the ghost islands at the George and Horn will be completed this week.

This will create what is known as an imprint and will raise the road surface where the hatched markings are at present.

While people can drive over an imprint we hope they will be encouraged to take the bend wider and slower, as too many people crossing to and from the library have to jump for the pavement.
