A LUCKY few could enjoy a special Hampshire charity preview of the latest Harry Potter film - if they are quick.

The Hampshire Autistic Society has secured a screening of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban three days before it goes on general release.

On June 1, the film, which is set to be a box office smash, will be shown at The Screen, Winchester at 8pm.

Only 220 tickets are available for the viewing, with money taken from the gate receipts going to the Whiteley-based charity.

Fundraising manager Sally Stemp said: "It's a must-see for all Potter fans. "This is a special event but tickets are limited."

Prisoner of Azkaban is the third in the series of Potter films following The Philosopher's Stone and The Chamber of Secrets.

The film is being tipped to be an even bigger success than its predecessors.

During its first three days, The Chamber of Secrets raked in £89m at cinemas around the world.

In North America, it became the third highest-earning opening film in history with receipts of £55m, slightly down on the £56m taken by The Philosopher's Stone.

Tickets for the screening cost £13, with receipts going to the charity, which supports services for children and adults across the autistic spectrum.

A pre-buffet and drinks reception takes place at the adjacent Peugeot garage, in Southgate Street, prior to the showing. For more information, contact Sally on 01489 880881.
