THEY'RE stripping down to their undies to pose for a calendar that will help rake in the cash for a charity close to a loved one's heart.
Friends and family members of Eastleigh mum, Lynda Ayres, are willing to have their calendar pictures pinned up in households everywhere in support of a cause that means so much to her.
Since she was diagnosed with diabetes four years ago, the 44-year-old from Compton Close has actively supported Diabetes UK.
Now Lynda is going that little bit further to raise the cash by enlisting the help of a group of friends, colleagues, and her two daughters to pose for the tasteful but nevertheless cheeky calendar they hope will sell like hot cakes.
She said: "We thought it would be a great idea which would prove really popular and that local companies would be keen to sponsor us."
"It will be very tasteful with all the girls, who are between 18 and 35 and include my two daughters, wearing French underwear - there is no nudity. We want it to look like the 1930s Stocking Tops calendars. I'll only
be posing if someone drops out though."
Having drafted in a friend who is a professional photographer, Lynda hopes that the black and white prints will look fantastic.
She added: "I just hope that we will get the sponsorship we need from local companies."
Since her diagnosis four years ago, Lynda, an admin worker at children and adolescent's mental health centre Leigh House in Winchester, has made dramatic changes to her lifestyle. Not only has she changed her diet and lost weight, she has climbed Snowdonia and is planning a trip to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro in September.
As well as the "Stocking Tops" calendar, which will hopefully be on sale by July, Lynda has also organised a disco fundraising night at the Irish Club in Eastleigh for June 4.
She said: "The best advice I could offer to anyone with diabetes is to come to terms with it and learn how to manage your lifestyle and diet. Be active and take control. It's so important to take care of yourself and that is what I've tried to do."
Daughter Louise, 25, a PA, said: "My mum has achieved so much and is doing so well. We're all really proud of her and I think the calendar will look great when its finished."
