Neil Davies continued his recent good form by opening up the Southampton individual snooker tournament with a 56 break and a 4-0 win.
Fresh from winning the Southampton Social Club's Fred Mintrum Cup, Davies whitewashed opponent McLean, with Paul Stenning also defeating Chris Christodoulou 4-2 in another Group A match.
In Group B, Adam Nash ran out a 4-0 winner against Stewart Crosswell but the group could not be much closer with only two points separating the five players since the early withdrawal of Mitch Wade.
Alex Dunkley beat Adam Nash 4-2, while in the second round of matches Crosswell defeated Robert Watts 4-3.
Back in Group A Stenning grabbed the current high break with a 58 as he beat Scott McGaw 4-1, Davies cruised to a 4-0 victory over Mike Daly and McLean got back on track with a 4-1 win over Christodoulou.
