Tommy Killick is heading back to Poole Town to manage the side he started out with as a player.
Poole vice chairman Chris Reeves said the club had made "their toughest-ever decision" to dismiss co-managers Dean Mooney and Paul Morrell to bring Killick into the hot seat.
Reeves explained: "Dean and Paul so committed and enthusiastic for us.
"But the bottom line was we under achieved last season. We are going into the Wessex League with the objective of going right to the top and we believe Tommy is the man to take us there.
"His knowledge of local football is encyclopaedic."
Killick's decision to rejoin the club he had two stints with as a player - the first as a 17-year-old - is a body blow to Salisbury, where he was number two to ex-Saint Nick Holmes.
He helped bring many of the players in at Salisbury and provided the perfect link for the former Football League man Holmes with the non-League scene in the area.
Poole, who are revamping the changing rooms at their Tatnum ground as well as building a new stand ready for a full-scale assault on Sydenhams Wessex League Division 1 football next season, have had their new reserve team accepted by the Dorset Senior League.
