WHERWELL Primary School spring fete was opened by the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire Mrs Mary Fagan, who arrived at the school by horsedrawn carriage.
The fete was packed with favourite activities such as pony riding, the stocks and a penalty shoot-out competition.
Julie Conner, joint chairman of the PTA, said: "It was a roaring success! No one wanted to leave as the day drew to an end and we managed to raise over £2,000 for the school."
The PTA is fortunate to have local companies to sponsor the event by providing goods and services.
A steel band from Kings School in Winchester entertained the crowds.
