THE MYSTERY of the demolished Ludgershall bus stop has finally been solved after an investigation involving police, the parish council, two bus companies and Andover Road residents.
The bus shelter, owned by the parish council, was demolished early on a Sunday morning in February but nobody had owned up to the deed to the authorities.
Following a report in the Andover Advertiser several residents reported that a bus had hit the shelter.
Wilts and Dorset denied any of their buses was responsible but it has turned out that the driver of the 7.50am Stagecoach bus through the village did report damaging the shelter.
"I have written to ask the cost of the removal and contacted Ringway Parkman for a replacement," said parish clerk Janet White.
