FREE recruitment and training advice is just one more reason for those interested in finding employment and training

courses to come along to The Southern Daily Echo Job Scene Roadshow at the Guildhall, Southampton, on Thursday.

Expert advice will be available free of charge to all visitors, with special 'clinics' addressing producing CVs, starting a business and guidance purely for adults.

Visitors will be able to find reassurance and information, as well as assistance in helping make the right decision to further their career or training path.

Link2Learn will be staffing the CV Clinics, where visitors will be able to find guidance on how to set out a CV, what to include, and extra details that make their CVs stand out.

Visitors who already have a CV but feel that it is not helping them get a job can also visit the CV Clinic for tips to improve it.

The Business Start-Up Clinic is there to help visitors learn about the importance of taking their commercial idea forward, and is provided by Business Link Wessex, the impartial route to business advice.

They will be at the Roadshow offering start-up advice and services locally through the South West Hampshire Enterprise Agency (SWHEA).

SWHEA provides impartial information, advice and training to people thinking of starting a business or who are running existing businesses.

The Adult Guidance Clinic, also operated by Link2Learn, will offer information and advice on learning and work to adults.

Advisers will be there to help people who are both in and out of employment, including those looking to improve their skills and self-esteem and realise their potential at work and beyond.

One-to-one advice on looking for a job, making an application and preparing for that vital interview is available to all.

In addition to the clinics, there will also be plenty of employers and training providers on site promoting jobs, careers and training courses.

Exhibitors include Abbey, British Gas, ECITB, Inland Revenue, Kelly Services UK Ltd, Red Funnel Group, Selwood Ltd, South West Trains, Southampton City Council, T & S Stores, Teacher Training Agency and many more.

The Roadshow's marketing and PR Executive, Deborah Berthon, said: "The event is always a popular way for Southampton's community to find access to up-to-date and relevant information about the types of job available, advice and guidance, as well as training courses."

The event (free admission) is open from 10.30am to 7pm, allowing

working people to visit after their normal working hours.

The event is sponsored by the Southern Daily Echo and supported by Power FM.
