THEATRE: Silchester Players present the comedy thriller Tiptoe Through the Tombstones, tonight and tomorrow, and next Friday and Saturday, at 7.30pm, in the village hall.
Tickets cost £6 for adults, £4 concessions, and are available from 0118 9815 600.
ANNUAL parish meeting: On Monday, at 8pm, at the village hall. Come along and ask questions and suggest what you think the village needs.
FUN run: The course is now mapped out and Silchester Association is looking forward to the usual large number of serious and fun runners taking part.
Proceeds will go to improvements planned to the playground.
CHAMPAGNE reception: Visitors to the reception were treated to an absolute delight of floral arrangements, designed by students from Newbury College, and portrayed many aspects of the church through the ages.
The Duke and Duchess of Wellington were among the many guests in the packed church, and the duchess kindly drew the raffle prizes.
After champagne and canaps, there were short presentations on what is planned for the church extension, which will cost around £150,000.
CDs of the flowers are on sale for £5, contact me for details.
A sum of £400 was raised on the raffle of flowers and bottles of champagne.
Many thanks to all who made the weekend such a success.
