Chineham Parish Council annual assembly: This took place on Monday.
Most people in Chineham must be content and have no queries, as only one member of the public attended and, thankfully, offered his services to support Cllr Brian Sperring, who is preparing a Village Design Statement.
Your services and comments regarding the statement are welcome. Contact the parish clerk on 474500 or e-mail clerk@chineham.gov.uk
The clerk, Karen Ross, will be starting maternity leave from the end of this month and we wish her well. Standing in is the assistant clerk, Gillian Baker, who can be contacted on 761790 or by e-mail on planning@chineham.gov.uk
PARISH council AGM: Les Fryer stepped down as chairman, to be replaced by Cllr Martin Adams. Cllr Chris Tomblin is still vice-chairman.
WASTE: The borough council is running a campaign called "Stop Your Waste Expanding" to promote waste minimisation and the kerbside recycling scheme.
On Wednesday, there is a roadshow at the Chineham Shopping Centre, from 10am to 8pm.
For more details, call Lucy Keal, environmental services officer, on 845373.
OVER 50s: If you are over 50, there is an opportunity for free internet sessions at Chineham Library next Monday. Contact the library on 465643.
