COMMUNITY leaders are to hold emergency talks with council planners in a bid to rescue a scheme for a community centre in Chandler's Ford.
People behind the plan for Hiltingbury Recreation Ground are to sit down with borough bosses to settle differences that have put the project in jeopardy.
Planners and architects have slated the design of the multi-thousand-pound community complex, as revealed in Monday's Daily Echo.
Their criticisms forced a council committee to delay making a decision on whether to back the centre. But community leaders will be hoping that the plan is not left on ice for too long. The planning green light is needed to press ahead with a bid for lottery cash.
