CITY of Southampton swimmer Chris Jones struck gold at the Youth Southern County Championships at Crystal Palace.
He won the 19-year-and-over 200m breaststroke final in 2min 28.36.
Jonathon Audis claimed a double bronze in the 19-and-over 100m backstroke final (1.03.81) and the 200m IM (2.19.90).
The 200m IM final was dominated by City swimmers as Audis was joined by Jones (4th) and Alistair Garmendia (6th).
The latter also swam in the 200m freestyle final (2.08.76, fifth) and the 400m freestyle (4.37.56, fourth).
Swimming in the 14/15 year age group, Emma Macey won bronze in the 200m butterfly final (2.25.31, pb).
She also competed in the 200m breaststroke (3.02.91), 100m breaststroke (1.26.29), 200m IM (2.39.10) and 100m butterfly (1.09.54).
Also in this age group, Sarah Brown did well in the 100m breaststroke (1.24.45), 200m freestyle (2.21.79), 200m breaststroke (3.06.27) and the 200m IM (2.43.46).
Alexander Reeves, 15, was eighth in the 400m IM (5.03.77). He also swam in the 100m breaststroke (1.16.48), 100m butterfly (1.03.88), 100m freestyle (59.24), 200m breaststroke (2.46.26) and 200m IM (2.21.12).
Luke Horswell, 16, competed in the 100m backstroke (1.08.77), 50m freestyle (26.76), 200m backstroke (2.27.95) and the 100m freestyle (59.31).
The City boys in the relays were Luke Horswell, Nicolas Edwards, Alexander Reeves, David Mugridge and David Bywater.
The girls were represented by Joanna Jeffcoate, Emma Macey, Sarah Brown and Amy Wheeler.
