FROM flash Ferraris to stylish carriages, Hampshire people are being urged to "do a mile" to help local cancer sufferers.
Macmillan Cancer Relief wants as many people as possible to take part in a huge fundraising event between May 23 and 30 to help fund a specialist cancer information centre at Southampton General Hospital.
The Macmillan Miles Challenge will see crazy capers across the county, with people doing a mile in all sorts of weird and wonderful ways.
Some are expected to run, skip, hop or even roly-poly their mile, while the less sporty may make a mile of coins, umbrellas, garden gnomes, dogs, yachts or even spaghetti.
Organisers say the events can be as wacky as people want - as long as a mile is completed.
All money raised will go towards the Macmillan Cancer Relief Appeal for south Hampshire to fund a cancer information and support centre at Southampton General Hospital.
