SUNDAY afternoon football will take on a whole new meaning when pop and indie clash at Reading's Madejski Stadium for the last match in the Soccer Six hat-trick on May 23.

Chart-toppers Blazin' Squad, indie favourites Starsailor and the Snow Patrol boys will all be there to kick off the final event.

This year Soccer Six celebrates its 10th birthday and promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

A host of top celebrities from the worlds of entertainment, music and sport will show off their ball skills and raise money for The Prince's Trust and Give A Child A Chance at three Soccer Six events this spring.

Stars already confirmed to play include The Darkness, Liberty X, Phixx, Clea and VS.

The other action-packed tournaments will take place this Sunday at Goodison Park in Liverpool, and on May 16 at Elland Road in Leeds.

In 2002, Blazin' Squad (pictured) shot straight to the top of the charts with their debut single Crossroads and secured themselves an army of female fans in the process.

The 10 lads from Walthamstow, East London, continued their phenomenal success with three top 10 smash hits and an acclaimed debut album In the Beginning.

Having just completed a sell-out arena tour, things can't get much better for the East End boys - unless they win Soccer Six of course!

Starsailor burst onto the forefront of the indie scene in 2001 with their million-selling debut album Love is Here, which provided the band with a string of hits including Good Souls, Alcoholic and the popular Lullaby.

Snow Patrol are set to give Starsailor a run for their money when they hit the turf.

The boys have been making music together since 1994, but it was the recent release of their third album Final Straw which really made the British public sit up and take notice. The critically-acclaimed album reached number three in the charts and they enjoyed massive success with the single Spitting Games and the top five hit Run.

Soccer Six is a fantastic day for all the family and a unique chance to get up close and personal to some of your favourite stars.

Tickets for all three events can be purchased from the Soccer Six Ticket hotline on 0870 100 0000. For more information, visit the website www.soccer-six.com
