THEY looked like the perfect couple.
But these Sir Walter Raleigh and Queen Elizabeth I impersonators who grew up together in Southampton haven't seen each other for 50 years.
Andrew Gardner, now aged 55, is keen to be reunited with his fancy dress companion.
Andrew emigrated to Australia in 1972. He has treasured this photograph of himself with a childhood friend remembered only as "Cynthia" ever since.
The photograph was taken when the pair entered a fancy dress competition at Maybush school, in Maybush, Southampton in 1954.
Andrew is currently on a three-week trip to visit his mum Mary Gardner in Hythe. During his stay he hopes to catch up with old friends including Cynthia.
Andrew and Cynthia both grew up in homes at Crabwood Road in Maybush.
They lost touch shortly after this photograph was taken when Andrew moved with his mum Mary to the Cadland Estate near Calshot, where Mary was a cook.
Andrew went to Fawley school, and later joined the navy before emigrating to Australia in 1972.
He said: "It would be tremendous to get back in touch with Cynthia. I expect she's forgotten about me - she probably didn't even get a copy of the photo. If Cynthia would like to get in touch and catch up over the years that would be great."
