FOUR years after his father's butchers shop closed down Andrew Grover has brought the meat trade back to Bishop's Waltham.
Bishop's Waltham Butchers was officially opened by the Mayor of Winchester, Jean Hammerton.
For 43-year-old Andrew it was a proud day - his father, John, ran the butchers JA Grover in the village for 16 years until pressure from the supermarkets forced him out of business.
Andrew, of Churchill Avenue, Bishop's Waltham, said: "It was always something I did plan to reopen when the other one closed.
"A lot of old customers have already been in shopping with us."
A recent survey of Bishop's Waltham residents found that a new butcher's shop was the second highest priority for the villagers.
Recently the village has been without a meat shop after all three butchers in the area closed.
This time Andrew is confident his business can compete and is promising to meet everybody's needs.
Mr Grover added: "I've had a lot of help from friends and family and this would not have been able to be achieved if it was not for them."
