A CRUISE liner on its first journey after engine repairs broke down again just off Southampton docks this morning.
Fred Olsen Line ship the Black Prince was due to pick up 412 passengers today for its first cruise after leaving dry dock in Hamburg, Germany, for engine repairs.
However, a breakdown in its other engine meant the vessel was left stuck outside the port without power and was not due in until 7pm.
The company said it was providing refreshments for passengers at a Southampton hotel and hoped to have a late sailing for the mini-cruise to Ireland and the Channel Islands.
A spokesman said: "The ship will arrive at 7pm and engineers will instigate repairs. Hopefully passengers will be embarking this evening for an overnight sailing."
