DAYS GONE BY... it's all very Antiques Roadshow and it's happening just up the road at the recently opened Sherfield Oaks Golf Club!

Wednesday will be a very special evening in aid of St Michael's Hospice, offering a delightful mixture of hands on antiques awareness, a fun competition as well as musical entertainment from band Perfectly Marvellous.

Tickets are priced at £17.50.

This includes a welcome drink, traditional bangers and mash supper with dessert and an opportunity to have an antique item of your own valued by experts.

We all know someone locally who has benefited from the tremendous support that the hospice offers at a time when it was most needed, so here's an opportunity to give something back and support them for a change (as well as a chance to nose around the new golf club!).

RETIREMENT: Oh no say it ain't so, but it is.

It's sad to announce that our own Rev Anthony reluctantly announced at Rotherwick church that he will be retiring in six months' time due to health concerns.

By then, he and Penny will have spent five years with our joint parishes and hopefully we'll have grown up enough in the meantime to cope without him.

There will be a lot to do between now and October, and we certainly appreciate the tough deliberations they both had to go through to arrive at this decision.
