TRIP: Bath is the destination for a day trip.

The coach leaves about 9.30am on May 11, and gets back around tea time.

It will allow about six hours' shopping, which is plenty of time to see the city. The cost is £10, bus and river trips cost extra.

NEW venture: The clubs of Old Basing, together with the parish council, are having a family get-together to promote sports.

The target age is for the one to eight year olds, to see if they are interested in sport.

The older people can also get involved.

This is on Bank Holiday Monday, May 3, starting at 10am at the recreation ground.

VILLAGE show: The committee is holding an AGM midway through the year just to keep you up to date, so pop along to the parish rooms with your suggestions at 7.30pm on Thursday.

This is also a great time to prepare for the photography class. This year, it is at St Mary's Church, Old Basing.

LONDON marathon: Pam Westgate managed to complete the course in fours hours and 11 minutes. She raised more than £200 for the charity Dreamflight.
