VANDALISM: Yet again, we have been seeing cases of mindless vandalism around the village.
The notice board from the toilet block in the square had its glazing smashed and part of the barrier designed to stop horse riders and motorcyclists from using the footpath above the Dell has been demolished. Someone has also been digging into the bund by the skate ramp.
This is not just a Kingsclere problem and I think the time is coming when we have to draw a line.
FOOTPATHS: The Parish Paths group is planning to clear away the undergrowth on the track leading up to the recreation ground.
We could do with some more members to help with this important work, so if you would like to spend some time in the fresh air benefiting the community, come along to the Village Club on Sunday, at 10am.
CONGRATULATIONS: To Peter Goff, whose family and local history website - www. kingsclere.org has been singled out by Your Family Tree magazine for its high quality and usefulness.
CCTV: I had a chance to see the new CCTV equipment and it is a significant step forward from the original system with some very clear images being captured from the centre of the village.
PARISH council: Meets on Monday, at 7.30pm. This is the meeting at which the various committees are decided for the year. As usual, there will be an opportunity for the public to speak at 8.30pm.
BROADBAND: This week will see a major upgrading of the community wireless broadband system, which hopefully will eliminate some of the minor problems we have been experience. Log onto www.kingsclere.net/broadband to find out details.
